Berkshire East is as much a riders mountain as you will find in New England. Whether you are a refugee from the northern ski resorts, a first timer, or die hard regular, the Beast has got you covered if you want great conditions, great terrain, great people, and an awesome atmosphere that caters to people who are done putting up with corporate b.s. and overpriced tickets. If you are a family, its easy, bring your kids and ski. Generations have grown up hearing, "If you can ski the B-east, you can ski anywhere." You know what, that saying is as valid now as it was twenty years ago.
However, we have changed. This winter you will see a wind tower. This unit will generate 130% of our annual need. We have some of the largest zip lines in North America. We have some great lifts and a bunch of new snow guns. Berkshire East has always been a locals place, but that's not because we only get people from western Mass. It means that when you buy a pass or a ticket here, that the money stays here and gets reinvested into our awesome mountain. |

Experience Catamount! Each season Catamount is a favorite mountain for thousands of downhill skiers and riders of all ages and ability levels. They return to Catamount for the excellent terrain, trail diversity, snowsports programs and down-home atmosphere right here in the Berkshires. The trails are uncrowded, the lift lines are short and the snowmaking and grooming operations are among the best. Catamount is big mountain skiing , close to home. From super-gentle to super-steep, Catamount offers terrain for everyone. 33 trails and park areas in all.
The Snowsports Learning Area is a gentle area right in front of the Base Lodge. It’s where kids and first-timers start out - and we make it easy with a Wonder Carpet lift. It’s as easy to use as a moving sidewalk. New this winter is a second wonder carpet lift and trail for our Kid Cats program.
From there, most guests proceed to The Meadows - a beautiful seven-trail complex of green circle “easier” terrain served by its own Triple Chairlift. The Meadows Area is perfect for skiers and riders who are getting ready to explore – and it’s a favorite of families.
Love diamonds and cruisers? Catamount has them! There’s Upper and Lower Alley Cat, Upper and Lower Glade, and the moguled Off Stage trail. And then there’s Catapult – Catamount's signature double-diamond trail. It’s not just the steepest trail in the Berkshires – it’s one of the steepest trails in the Northeast! Oh, and Sidewinder is a mile-long cruiser that just keeps you coming back!
If you live for terrain parks, rails, boxes and jumps, The Terrain Park has it all – front and center – in view from the Berkshire Lodge. Try the Halfpipe or the Boardercross track on Sunrise, too. Travel Less for More |
|
Great terrain variety including the most green circle “easier” terrain in the region
More runs with less waiting in line
The Berkshires’ longest run - two miles and descending 1,000 vertical feet

Come and ski the friendly, family area of the Berkshires. At Otis Ridge you will find the facilities of a larger ski area, yet we're small enough to be personal. Otis Ridge offers a variety of terrain including challenging slopes and trails. While one of the smaller ski areas in Massachusetts, we can boast of excellent snowmaking and grooming operations. We have a full service ski shop, rental equipment, and provide instruction in snow sports. We are also the low cost ski area in the state. With the reopening of the Grouse House, our customers now enjoy good food, drink and an excellent view of the slopes. Our snowmaking equipment adds to what mother nature provides, and our northeastern exposure protects our cover. While Otis Ridge welcomes beginner skiers and provides an excellent atmosphere for the first-time skiers, we also offer a wide variety of terrain. The beginner trails wind out and around the ends of the ridge, while one of our expert slopes drops right over a small headwall. |
